Glass properties
The basic properties of the glass:
- the substance an amorphous there is no structured internal construction
- There is no constant melting point
- isotropic material
- weak Guide to electricity
- material with a high chemical resistance (it is not resistant to hydrofluoric acid)
- mechanical properties of glass work:
- Mons scale hardness of 5-7
- the density of construction glass 2400-2600 kg/m³
- flexural strength 30 – 50 MPa
- compressive strength of 800-1000 MPa
- Young’s modulus GPa 70
The properties of the glass are dependent on how the cast and to a limited extent from the chemical composition.
